Help us Obi-Wan, these books are our only hope! Every Star Wars fan familiar with the universe certainly knows that there are many Star Wars books written about it. And obviously, there are good ones and bad ones. However, there are a few that are better than the rest and are actually considered to be extraordinary. The Jedi Apprentice, Star Wars trilogy is one of the most famous Star Wars book trilogies known worldwide. Author Dave Wolverton released the first edition of it more than a decade ago, in 1999. After the first edition, Rising Force, there were many others to come in the period from 1999-2002. These are now considered as the pearls of sci-fi writing, as Star Wars has never failed to deliver perfect stories and amazing scenery. Likewise, Jude Watson Star Wars Jedi books are renown for their quality and explanations of the universe. That is why these are our picks for the 10 best Star Wars Jedi books – which of them are the really best ones is for you to decide.

The first book in the Jedi Apprentice series from Dave Wolverton is Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force. In this book, the story sets in motion when Obi-Wan is a young boy at 12 years old finishing his training at the Jedi Temple. Being trained by Yoda in order to become a Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan must devote himself to becoming a Padawan learner of a Jedi Master. However, Obi-Wan is assigned a job as a farmer in a mining place in Bandomeer. And it is exactly the place where Qui-Gon and Yoda are traveling on a diplomatic mission with a transport that is carrying 2 mining factions. This is when the battles and attacks by space pirates as well as the crashes and landings start.

The first book in the Jedi Quest series, another Star Wars Jedi book series, features the young boy Anakin learning his Jedi training techniques. The emotions he faces and the friends Anakin makes in the Jedi Temple are strained when Obi-Wan and Anakin are sent on a mission to Radnor, where they face a virus outbreak causing the population to go into a panic. With four teams sent in, including Anakin and Obi-Wan, the mission is to evacuate the planet. However, there seems to be a painful and hidden truth behind the virus outbreak.

Being the third book in the Jedi Apprentice series, this one features Obi-Wan being one year older than in the first edition of Rising Force. The story starts on the way to the planet Gala where Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon lead a mission to while being hijacked by a friend of Obi-Wan and his brother. They are a part of an organization which crosses ways with the Jedi perspective, which gives us amazing insight into the Jedi lifestyle. The book is written in a great manner and it gives many details on the Jedi force as well as a brief glimpse into the hidden Jedi past.

The planet Melida/Daan is in the middle of a civil war with people killing each other. This is the scenery and moment when a female Jedi named Tahl kicks into mediate but is taken as a hostage. This is the moment when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon step into the storyline, as they are sent to retrieve her, but unfortunately are caught in the local war from which they must seek refuge. The relationship between the Master and the Apprentice in this book is really presented at its best as well as how the overall philosophy differs from the other parts. Also, this is the first book to have Obi-Wan fly a starfighter into combat.

The Uncertain Path, also written by Jude Watson, comes next as a book that has received all the best ratings. With Obi-Wan leaving Qui-Gon and the Jedi to help the wars on Melida/Daan in the fifth part's ending, the Young eventually wins the war but is left with establishing and rebuilding a new government and planet. With an actual vandalism on the temple and the problems escalating, Qui-Gon is assigned to nab the culprit and get rid of the problems in place.

The book starts with the Temple we already know about and many problems and threats to the main characters. With things being stolen, breaking down, and a variety of new problems, the situation in the Temple gets serious and although Yoda survives, it is a mystery who planned the whole scenario. This book gets into the great relationship between the Padawan and Master again and sets a great dynamics of interdependence. The trust is on the line between the Masters and Padawans and in the real world, it is important for these characters to be drilled home in the best way possible.

This book features the long-awaited and inevitable battle between Qui-Gon and Xanatos. It builds up the intensive atmosphere as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon attempt to heal their relationship. On the way to rekindling their friendship, they create a unique rebellion oriented to Xanatos. The self-doubt of Obi-Wan and his actions are deeply described as well - not to mention the amazing cover this book has to offer Star Wars fans.

The tenth Star Wars Jedi book in the Jedi Apprentice series starts with a calm approach to the two neighboring planets - Rutan and Senali, which despite being neighbors have seen a lot of war in the past. The rulers of these planets accept to exchange children to bury their hatred for each other, however, things don't turn out so well. Instead, the heir has a plan that comes to life after hundreds of years, with a war between these planets in which Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are called to mediate the dispute. Obviously, it's not so simple to keep things under control between these planets which makes an interesting setup for a great action book.

This eleventh book in the Jedi Apprentice series features Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in their return to Coruscant. Stopping at a diner on the way unveils a story of a bounty hunter trying to kill the owner of the establishment, who is Qui-Gon's old friend. While investigating the matter, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon escape death several times. Following various clues, afterward, leads to the discovery of Senator, a rejected Jedi who crosses ways with the protagonists.

Concluding the story told in the eleventh edition, The Deadly Hunter, this book tells the storyline of a bounty hunter Ona Nobis walking into a trap with the young Padawans being outmatched. However, the battle is triggered by a whole other sort of events and things such as a virus with a cure found on only one planet and many other things. This Star Wars Jedi book sets the theme of knowing when to run and when to walk away, in which Obi-Wan learns important lessons while being outclassed and mending a broken ego.
