Imagine a time... a time where there was constant bloodshed, constant war, constant death... place yourself in this place of war and darkness, how would you react? What would you do? What COULD you do?

Pt 1

The wind howled, blowing strong enough to knock trees to the ground. Storm clouds were approaching the clans from the west. Holly was walking against the wind, patrolling the area. The moon wasn’t present to light her path, which made it difficult. To top it off her nightmares had finally affected her sleep enough to make her very tired.

“Come on Holly!” Johnson yelled. She nodded slightly. “She is in no condition to be doing this,” Johnson shouted to Dewy. His leader disagreed and argued that she had to. Branches that had broken off of trees were shooting by them; one of which had nailed Jeff on the head like a rock. Dewy glanced around at his warriors.

“Alright, let’s get back to the clan!” he shouted. “What!?” a warrior yelled. “Return to the clan!” Dewy yelled again. This time everyone had heard him. They turned towards the heart of their territory when a loud battle cry shot out of nowhere.

They all glanced back to see several Lycan warriors rushing after them. “Attack!” Dewy yelled to his warriors. They all shot at each other. From behind them, Holly noted that two were still in their human states, or so it seemed.

They collided with one another for the most part but none of the transformed Lycan were going after Holly. Instead, the two warriors that weren’t transformed went after her. She barrel rolled out of the way and stood to face them.

They were chuckling. Holly glared for a few seconds before she noted that these warriors had the teeth of a Vampire warrior. They were Vampires, working with Lycan.

“Dewy, these two aren’t Lycan, they’re Vampires!” she shouted. Dewy’s expression changed from vicious to confused, “Impossible, Lycan and Vampire have never teamed up!”

One of them smirked while the other opened his mouth to speak, “We have a deal going that benefits all of us if we team up.” Holly glared at them, “I’ll fry you two instantly if you guys don’t scatter. I have control over light energy! I swear that I will fight for my clan until the end!” Both of them laughed. Now even Holly began to feel uneasy about this attack.

“We know all about you Holly and trust us; we’re not interested in your pathetic little clan of hybrid. These Lycan can have the clan but we have a different target, right Jack?”

“That we do Roman.”

“What might that be?”

“You’re our target!” The two shot at Holly instantly and knocked her to the ground.

She struggled while the two warriors laughed at the sight of her. She stopped and the next thing they knew, a bright wave of white light was blasting away from Holly which threw them off of her. They screamed as their skin dried and cracked. Holly shot up and glanced at her handy work.

“She’s powerful for someone who is supposed to be tired as dirt is old,” the one named Roman growled. His short black hair blew with the wind. Jack’s black hair was blowing in front of his face.

Holly took a step back, “How did you two know?!”

“They knew only because I informed them,” came a new voice. A new figure shot down to the ground. Whoever it was wore black armor that was covered with spikes, metallic claws, a strange black metal mask and what appeared to be dart launchers.

Along with the armor, he wore a black robe that had several blood red stars on it. Holly’s eyes grew wide instantly when she saw the coat. “This guy has the Hive's robe!” she shouted.

“Say w-w-what?!” Johnson gasped. “Way to figure it out Holly but it’ll do you no good. I am going to crush you… Roman, Jack, why don’t you run along home… I’ll handle this fool myself!”

“If you say so, boss…” The two Vampires backed away, making room for this Hive warrior to fight.

“Commander Basilisx, we wish you luck.” He laughed, “I won’t need luck to win this battle, morons… I’m more powerful than her by a long shot.”

“Bring it snake spit,” she mocked. “You’ll regret insulting my name like that you little whelp, here I come!”

Basilisx’s arms shot up and pointed right at her, his hands were fists now. Instantly small dart launchers, which looked like small metal tubes attached to small handles, came out of his sleeves.

Darts shot out at Holly at lightning speed but she was faster, or so she thought. She ducked down to avoid but the next thing she knew was that Basilisx was right next to her. She kicked him up into the darts which simply bent and bounced off of his armor.

Holly somersaulted to her left and spun around to see that two more strange objects were coming out of his sleeves. These were small pistols attached to small rods. He grabbed them and aimed at Holly. Instantly he fired a barrage of bullets in her direction.

Holly’s hands shot into the air and instantly a white sphere surrounded her. It was a barrier. The bullets bounced off of it and landed on the ground. Holly looked to see what this warrior’s next trick would be. Her question was answered when Basilisx pointed his right arm at her.

Multiple arrows shot at her and scrapped her up. Before she fell backwards onto the ground she shot a white wave of light energy at Basilisx which hit him head on. The attack didn’t do much to him however as he barely budged but it did make him skid back a few feet. He then tossed what appeared to be a grenade at her which exploded only a foot or so away from her.

“Holly!” Johnson yelled out, still trying to keep his Lycan opponent off of him. Basilisx looked into the air to see Holly holding her hand out at him. His arms shot in front of his face in a defensive form while a sphere of light grew in her palm.

She shot down at Basilisx still holding her palm out at him. When she was inches away from his face, she fired her light attack. A huge blast of light energy shot from the sphere and blasted Basilisx right in the arms that were covering his face.

Basilisx pushed back but he couldn’t keep his feet on the ground. The light energy blast sent him flying away from Holly inside of the wave. The wave kept going for only a few seconds more before it finally subsided.

White smoke was drifting away from her palm, “Take that you no good… what!?” she stammered. A metallic arm shot out of a pile of dirt that was only a couple dozen feet away. His armor hadn’t been destroyed which clearly meant that he had survived.

Basilisx shot out of the mound of dirt with his arms out. Even his robe was intact surprisingly. He landed on the ground on one knee and stood to look at Holly.

“You clearly don’t know why I’m still alive so allow me to answer your stupid question. There are three reasons why everything on me remains undamaged. The first is that your sleep deprivation has taken a toll on your power, that attack had several gaps in it that spread the concentration of the energy out making it less effective. The second is that this armor and everything else isn’t made from heavy levels of darkness, making it hard to crack. And what I believe to be the third reason is that in these times of piece you’ve exhausted a lot of your power and probably lost some training you used during the war. Game over Holly, it’s time to die.”

Holly’s expression went from blank to angry.

Holly glanced to Dewy and gave a slight nod; he did the same. “Warriors, retreat! Back to the clan!” he shouted against the wind.

Everyone quickly shot away towards the heart of their turf leaving the Lycan warriors laughing at their opponents as they ran. “Seems like you’ve been deserted Holly, any last words before I carve you like a pumpkin?”

She smirked at his comment, “Yeah, I have a few words.” “What are they?” Holly’s body glowed shinny white, her eyes lit up from green to sky blue. Basilisx backed away from her, “Taste the power of the Destructo Light Bomber Attack!” She shouted. Instantly that white glow spread out in a circular motion.

It moved pealed the ground away as it moved. The wave of light energy engulfed Basilisx and the Lycan warriors. It stopped when it had engulfed everything within a couple dozen yards and sat for five seconds.

Holly’s glowing ceased. The wave of light energy bubbled up, glowed super bright, and finally exploded scorching everything that was within a quarter mile radius.

Dust spread out everywhere covering everything. It began to subside five minutes after the blast revealing Holly in the epicenter. She was glancing around while biting her nails. She hadn’t meant to get so carried away; she had only wanted to kill the Hive warrior without so much damage.

She then realized that Basilisx was right, she had lost control over her full power. The original plan was to simply hold the blast back once it swallowed up the Lycan and Basilisx but it went much farther.

A pile of rubble stirred. Holly went blue as Basilisx shot up out of the pile like he had done before. His robe was ripped, the top half was missing half of what it had, the right sleeve was ripped to shreds, and whatever was on the right side below his knee was missing to. Everything else was ripped up a bit but not destroyed. Part of his armor was also cracked.

Basilisx chuckled to himself and burst out laughing. Holly got in a defensive stance ready for his attack to come.

“Well Holly… I gotta hand it to ya… few people live to tear my coat like this… and only two or three have ever cracked my armor. Maybe you’ll be the first person to break it off of me but I doubt it… I should hurry this along before you can do that again. In fact, you could’ve cooked my armor if you had better control over what you were doing. Don’t let it go to your head though… I’m even more dangerous without it.”

He ripped the robe off and tossed it aside as long, sharp blades that resembled swords shot from the armor’s hand slots. Holly concentrated and managed to form two swords like weapons out of light energy. She then got ready for his attack. Basilisx charged at Holly dragging the swords behind him on the ground. They ran up to each other and shot their swords at their opponent’s swords.

Pt 2

Katherine’s eyes lit up. To her left she saw a huge bright light exploding. She saw movement in some bushes thanks to the light. Then she saw them, transformed Lycan warriors. One of the Lycan clans was attacking. She looked over at some of the warriors that were on guard; they hadn’t seen the Lycan creeping up.

Her mouth opened and she shouted, “Lycan!” The warriors instantly became alert as they were jumped. In less than a minute, her clan’s warriors were shooting out of the entrance.

Several Lycan shot above them and shot into the entrance tunnel. Katherine shot after them. She came to the main chamber to see several warriors fighting the Lycan that had entered. She also noted that the elites and her father were fighting several others up on the ledge that went to their lairs.

Katherine turned around to see several more Lycan running through the tunnel into the main chamber followed by four warriors that were in human forms. She recognized Dustin and David instantly but she couldn’t identify the other two.

One wore a black robe with red stars; the other was dressed like a Vampire warrior. The one with the robe had silver gray hair and red eyes that looked unnatural while the other one had golden hair and eyes.

The cloaked one stopped and opened his mouth to speak, “Alright, Dustin, David, help your warriors fight these fools. Shane, you help me look for the sword understood?”

The gold haired one nodded, “Understood Cortez,” he replied. Dustin and David instantly noticed Katherine standing in the middle of the room. Dustin growled, “You and I have some unfinished business… runt! David, go assist the others outside, I’ll manage in here.” “No way boss, remember you’re still not in tip top shape and this little half -blood that creamed you last time is, you’ll require help with this fight.” “Fine… but I kill her, understood!?” “Right sir.”

Katherine glared at both of them. A Lycan fell right in front of them. Zepp and Jayden bounced down in front of her next and attacked the two Lycan. Jayden shouted for her to go. She nodded and leaped away.

The cloaked warrior landed right in front of her and looked up at her face. “Where is the sword?” he questioned. Katherine spat at him, “We have many swords you flea bag mutt.” He growled, “I’m looking for a white sword that glows a lot you insect, it’s old looking!” He slapped her. “Talk!” He did it again.

When he did it a third time, her head was angled away from his. When she turned back, her eyes were in slits. Her nails grew sharper as she slashed at him. “You’re going to regret this!”

Mike landed by his daughter and stared into the strange warrior’s eyes; then he noted the robe. “So that’s it… you’re a Hive warrior judging by the robe and the red star pattern. You want the sword?” He pulled out a sword. “Try this one!”

He swung at Cortez and cut a small part of his face. Black blood sprayed out and turned into a mist before disappearing. Cortez shot his foot up at Mike’s face, attempting to kick his jaw but Mike dropped and spun around with his leg out. He tripped Cortez, causing him to fall backwards.

The one named Shane joined Cortez soon after to help fight. Dustin and David shot at Katherine from behind, taking her by surprise. She didn’t stay down for long. “Get… off of me!” She kicked them off of her. They twirled in the air and landed perfectly.

Pt 3

Holly spun around and slid along the disturbed ground. Basilisx was a tough customer that much was certain. Basilisx shot into the air and came down on her with his blades thirsts for blood. She blocked his attack with her own weapons.

“Insignificant fool, why don’t you wake up already and face the facts like you should? You’ve lost this fight and I am going to take great pleasure in pealing the skin off of your bones.”

Holly jumped at Basilisx who was air born once again. They collided with each other and fell onto the ground. Basilisx shot up annoyed as ever.

The blades he was using slid back into his armor. “Alright Holly, have it your way!” He pointed his arms at her again. From the direction came several darts. Holly rolled to her left to avoid getting hit and put her palm up, which was now facing Basilisx. There was a glow but then that glow of light subsided. Holly gasped.

Basilisx chuckled, “looks like you’ve exhausted yourself… no more light energy for you to use on me…” Basilisx held his palm out and revealed a grenade, “With this you’ll no longer be a threat to lord Nightmare once we take over the world.”

He tossed it at Holly who could only watch as it landed and exploded. Basilisx laughed as the dust cleared to reveal no sign of Holly. “She’s dead!” “If you believe that then you are a fool Basilisx…”

Basilisx turned around to see Shadow approaching with Jack and Roman behind him. “What do you mean Shadow? I got her in the face with that grenade. She had no strength left to defend herself.”

“She had power left… she used the last of it to create a field that would defend her from the blast as well as send her flying away after the explosion’s force took effect.” Basilisx didn’t move.

“Relax, Roman and Jack can go after her now… that armor isn’t built for running so let them. You two have three hours before the sun rises. Get moving.” “Yes sir!” They dashed off leaving Shadow with Basilisx. “Basilisx, you report back the Jackson, I must report back to Nightmare.” “Very well Shadow…”

Pt 4

Katherine jumped to avoid David who was leaping at her. Dustin followed up by kicking her down to the ground; she landed and sluggishly stood up. Katherine thought she was beat, that she was going to die.

Then she remembered what Dustin had done, how he had killed her closest friends brutally, the blood he was shedding with this attack. Furry exploded within her just remembering the sight. Dustin’s fist was going for her face and made contact but not with what he was aiming for.

Katherine’s hand was in the air holding Dustin’s fist. She squeezed hard and the next sound that came was the popping of bone. She had broken Dustin’s right hand. He stumbled backwards but stopped to swing at her with his left.

She ducked under it and jumped up after it had passed. She spun in circles in the air three times and kicked the Lycan in the jaw. His jaw drooped due to the fact that Katherine had just smashed it.

Dustin stumbled backwards and dropped. David looked in awe at the sight of a young girl taking his powerful leader down. He turned and fled in an instant. Katherine glanced back to her father who was losing the battle against Cortez and Shane.

She charged at Shane and wailed him in the back, sending him flying into a wall. She glanced at her father, “Father, I’ll handle this, go check on the sword thing that they’re after!” He nodded and shot up onto the ledge.

Shane walked back up to Cortez. Katherine growled at them, “Your fight is with me now!” Cortez glanced up at the ledge and saw Katherine’s father and his four elder elites walk into a tunnel. He looked at Shane and nodded, “Let’s buy a little time for those two, not that I have to that is,” he whispered. Katherine shot off at them in a rage.

The room was dark, no torches lit this room. Two figures walked in, both of which were masked. On a wall was a glowing sword. “That’s what we’re here for Tobi?” “Yes Rusty… that is the sword.” One of them reached up for it when a knife shot by and got stuck in the wall. The two turned to see Mike and his four elites. “Seems like Cortez failed to delay them…” “You keep your hands off of that sword.”

Bob lit a torch that was in the room to get a look at the two Hive warriors. They were shorter than Cortez but also wore the black cloaks with the red stars. Both wore different masks.

Rusty had a mask that was gray on its right and golden on the other with one eye hole which revealed an icy Sapphire Eye; the other one wore a silver mask with a crescent like visor thing.

“The sword is ours Mike… back off or face our wrath…” Tobi muttered. Rusty ran at Mike with a sword but instead of dodging the old warrior kicked the sword into Rusty’s mask. He pulled it out but broke the mask in two by doing so. Everyone gasped.

Mike stepped back, “It can’t be… but if you’re… then that means that he is…. I don’t believe this.” “My eyes are for more than just show you old fool…” Rusty muttered.

Jayden, Zepp, and Katherine were now teamed up against Cortez. The battle with him had already taken five minutes since their father went into the tunnel with his elites. “Let’s finish this…” Cortez sighed, “My mission is complete, such a shame... and here I was thinking I might actually use a little of my power.” He backed away and ran off to their surprise.

“That coward… come on guys, we need to help our father protect the whatchamacallit,” Katherine reasoned. Both brothers looked at each other, then to Katherine and shook their heads no. “He should have it under control Katherine.”

“I’m going anyway!” She shot onto the wall and began to climb up towards the ledge.

She reached the top and dashed inside the tunnel. She ran up to her father’s room. The sight she saw next would break her heart. She found Bob, Joe, and Billy dead, a nearly dead father, and a broken Phil. Mike had the sword and noticed his daughter. He tossed it to her without thinking.

“Katherine, the clan is done for! Keep the Sword of Light with you at all times! Look for a warrior of a group known as the Tribe named-.” he ducked to dodge a swing at his head by Rusty.

“Named Holly. Find her and tell her that the Hive has returned; this is a matter of life and death for the entire planet! The hybrid clan... go there and find her… Run!” That was the last she heard from him as Rusty cut his head off.

Tears flooded her eyes. Rusty laughed, “If that’s his plan to save the world then I say let this fool take the sword. It’ll be of no use to her considering Holly is being killed as we speak.”

Phil shouted at her, “Katherine, go now… or your father’s death will be for nothing! The clan is lost; don’t bother fighting this battle.” She didn’t hear the rest. She was now running away from the room. When she entered the main room she shot clear across to the exit tunnel and ran out.

Most of the clan was beaten down or dead. Katherine didn’t stop running until she thought she was far enough away. She huffed a little, burst into tears and screamed up into the sky.
