Bob Guccione was more than just the founder of OMNI magazine, beyond this, he was an artist and lover of all things science fiction and art. He collected a variety of pieces from some of the world's most renowned artists; names like H.R. Giger, Stanislaw Fernandes, and Jim Burns. Thanks to his love of sci-fi art and his celebrity status, Guccione was able to commission some of the most recognized science fiction artists to create pieces that were later featured in various OMNI magazine issues. This assortment of 35mm slides was originally prepared for usage in the July 1980 edition of OMNI magazine. The featured slides are images from the movie Dune, as well as the ear image from Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s The Roaring Silence album cover.
OMNI Magazine Cover Layout Page January 1985
This OMNI magazine pre-production cover layout page was featured on the January 1985 cover prior to its public release. The cover art was created by artist Stanislaw Fernandes and it is titled 'Utopia'. The illustration depicts a female cyborg face with an abstract rainbow pattern emitting from the forehead. The woman, or 'femanoid,' represents new birth and transformation. There are handwritten notes within the margins indicating placement of colors and text used for the final version of the magazine.

Also included are direction notes for a prospective multimedia piece titled 'Machine Intelligence.' All pieces are unsigned.
